Work with Wayne
The brain is a pattern-seeking instrument that looks to put the chaos of the world into some kind of recognizable order. Stories represent our most powerful and meaningful way of doing just that.
Storytelling is a skill that can be developed. It can be a tool used to inform, create empathy and allow for self-reflection.
The services I provide have that one unifying throughline. Regardless, if it’s a workshop for educators to utilize Social Emotional techniques, Corporate Diversity, Equity and Inclusion sessions, or engaging writers and performers in the theater, the Power of Storytelling is self-evident.

This workshop is for Pageantry/ Marching Arts performers and instructors. The sessions are a reminder in our activity, Designers, Caption Heads, Techs and Performers are all storytellers! Telling stories In the phrases we write… the measures we teach and in the dots we clean and as performers we tell stories through expressive qualities in our movement, staging and playing.
The “New Perspectives” workshop focuses on creating a a workplace that celebrates diversity. This experience will be a revealing, enlightening and engaging process to examine old patterns while cultivating new skills and perspectives in a nurturing, safe energized environment. The intent is to explore tools that recognize and address micro/macro aggressions, implicit bias, and fosters equity and belonging.
In the storytelling world, the idea of the power of storytelling has always been at the forefront that, as we share our stories, we can create transformative moments. If you are interested in creating a custom workshop for you, reach out.
“I wanted to have improvisation as a part of this process. Because you know those of us that have taken improv, or even if you've heard of improv, you know that it's been used in the corporate world for years now, for team building, teaching collaboration, taking risks, the idea that you promote innovation through the concept of ‘yes’. And it just creates a creative environment. I thought that [improv] component, trying to address such important discussions, needed to be a safe environment. So, the improvisation games we play and the exercises we do, really help create community. I was amazed at how you can create community through improv.”
